Join the Global Task Force on Third Country Education Pathways

Are you interested in joining the Global Task Force on Third Country Education Pathways (GTF) to support the expansion of higher education as a complementary pathway for refugee students? The GTF welcomes the participation of states, NGOs, INGOs, associations, and university consortia who work internationally to offer higher education opportunities or resources for refugee students beyond their countries of first asylum. GTF members convene regularly as a large group and in sub-committees to mobilize relevant stakeholders in forging new pathways and to advocate for global awareness of third country pathways.

To qualify for membership in the GTF, an organisation or entity must:

  • Be an NGO, INGO, association or university consortium offering education opportunities or resources for refugee students at the tertiary level, and demonstrate a commitment to further the implementation of third country education pathways across borders, or; be an intergovernmental organization, foundation, state or government entity supporting the design and implementation of third country education pathways or opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to expanding third country education pathways;

  • Commit to mobilizing and/or convening other relevant stakeholders at the national, regional, and/or global level to advocate for the implementation and expansion of third country education pathway programmes;

  • Share the mission and support the objectives of the GTF as outlined in the Terms of Reference (ToR);

  • Endorse the “Minimum Standards for Complementary Education Pathways” and strive to adhere to these standards for the design, support, and implementation of programmes;

  • Commit to encouraging refugee participation in the design and implementation of programmes.

If you are interested in joining you can either be nominated by an existing GTF member or self-nominate by reaching out to the GTF Secretariat via the contact form.
