Join the Global Task Force on Third Country Education Pathways

Are you interested in joining the Global Task Force on Third Country Education Pathways (GTF) to support the expansion of higher education as a complementary pathway for refugee students? The GTF welcomes broad membership from a wide array of actors already offering or supporting third country education pathways or resources for refugee students, from refugee networks and post-secondary institutions to foundations, associations, states, and NGOs. Stakeholders with no prior experience providing third country education pathways, but with a dedicated interest in learning more about how to support refugee youth through higher education, are also welcome to join the GTF.

GTF members convene regularly to share updates and good practices, mobilize relevant stakeholders in forging new pathways and to advocate for global awareness of third country pathways.

To qualify for membership in the GTF, an organisation or entity must: 

  • Be an NGO, INGO, association, university consortium or refugee network offering education opportunities or resources for refugee students at the tertiary level, or demonstrate a commitment to further the implementation of third country education pathways across borders;

    OR 

  • Be an intergovernmental organization, foundation, state or government entity supporting the design and implementation of third country education pathways or demonstrating an interest in doing so;

    OR

  • Be a stakeholder with no prior experience providing third country education pathways, but with a dedicated interest in learning more about how to support refugee youth through higher education;

    AND

  • Commit to mobilizing and/or convening other relevant stakeholders at the national, regional, and/or global level to advocate for the implementation and expansion of third country education pathway programmes; 

  • Share the mission and support the objectives of the GTF; 

  • Endorse the “Minimum Standards for Complementary Education Pathways” and strive to adhere to these standards for the design, support, and implementation of programmes; 

  • Commit to encouraging refugee participation in the design and implementation of programmes.
